Here is the comprehensive, legally aligned Terms & Conditions policy tailored for Ideal Home SA (idealhome.co.za).

IDEAL HOME SA – TERMS & CONDITIONS OF SALE

Last Updated: May 2026

Welcome to Ideal Home SA (idealhome.co.za). These Terms and Conditions govern the sale, supply, delivery, and installation of home and office furniture products provided by Ideal Home SA to individuals and corporate business clients across South Africa and the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region.

By placing an order, making a deposit payment, or confirming an invoice with us, you agree to be bound by the terms outlined below.

1. Customer Eligibility & Basis of Sale

  • Legal Age Requirement: By purchasing from our platform or showroom, you warrant that you are legally capable of entering into binding contracts and are at least 18 years of age.

  • Capacity: We serve both individual consumers (B2C) and corporate business enterprises (B2B) across South Africa and the wider SADC region.

  • Information Accuracy: Product descriptions, dimensions, and visual representations on our website or marketing documentation are subject to alteration without prior notice and do not constitute an immutable contractual offer.

2. Orders, Customs, & Variation Orders

  • Stock & Showroom Items: For all items currently in stock or displayed live in our physical Woodmead showroom, full payment is required upfront to secure the stock.

  • Custom / Build-to-Order Products: For custom-made or bespoke production furniture, a non-refundable commitment deposit is required before the sourcing, production, or manufacturing process commences.

  • Client Responsibility: The client is strictly required to review all structural designs, material specifications, configurations, and dimensions provided in our quotation or invoice prior to confirming through payment.

  • Variation Orders: Any additional items, modifications, or layout changes requested by the client after production or sourcing has commenced will be treated as a Variation Order. All variation orders are subject to management approval, and separate full payment must be settled before the modified work begins.

3. Payment Methods & Financial Terms

  • Accepted Payment Methods: We accept Cash, Card payments, and Electronic Funds Transfers (EFT).

  • EFT Payment Release Policy: To ensure financial compliance and prevent fraudulent activity, goods will only be released for courier dispatch or physical showroom collection once EFT payments are fully confirmed and reflect clear in our designated bank account.

  • Withholding Prohibited: The customer shall settle all outstanding balances without set-off, counterclaim deductions, or unauthorized withholdings.

4. Shipping, Deliveries, & SADC Regional Logistics

  • Gauteng Deliveries: Deliveries within Gauteng are handled through standard distribution channels.

  • Outside Gauteng & SADC Deliveries: All shipments outside of Gauteng province and into neighboring SADC countries are processed strictly through a Request for Quotation (RFQ) system. Delivery charges will be quoted dynamically based on weight, volume, and logistical borders.

  • Showroom Collection: Clients are welcome to arrange their own transit or collect directly from our showroom warehouse facility located in Woodmead Commercial Park.

  • Delivery Scheduling: Ideal Home SA estimates delivery days based on management and courier schedules; precise delivery time windows cannot be strictly guaranteed. Time of delivery shall not be deemed of the essence of the contract.

5. Inspection, Delivery Acceptance, & Risk

  • Receiver Verification: The individual signing for the delivery at the destination address must be 18 years of age or older. Their signature on our delivery note constitutes final, legal proof that the order was safely received.

  • Thorough Inspection Obligation: It is the customer’s strict responsibility to inspect all items thoroughly upon arrival before signing the proof of receipt.

  • Visible Transit Damage: You retain the explicit right to refuse delivery of any product that displays visible damage. If refused, note clearly on the driver’s delivery document: “Goods refused due to transit damage” and notify us immediately. Ideal Home SA cannot be held liable for prominent, visible surface damage that was not recorded on the proof of delivery note.

  • Concealed Damage Timeline: If structural damage or internal defects only become evident after unpacking, the issue must be logged via email to sales@idealhome.co.za within 48 hours (2 days) of delivery, accompanied by photographic proof. Claims submitted after 48 hours are assumed to have occurred post-delivery and will be evaluated or declined at the sole discretion of management.

6. Assembly & Structural Exclusions

  • Self-Assembly Damage: If a client opts out of our professional installation services and chooses to assemble the furniture themselves, Ideal Home SA is not liable for structural splits, stripped threads, stable misalignment, or component damage resulting from improper self-assembly.

  • Subcontractor Exclusions: If external third-party transport teams or non-appointed subcontractors handle the collection or delivery of your products, Ideal Home SA will not accept responsibility for site management friction or transit handling damages.

7. Natural Material Realities & Irregularities

  • Natural Material Variance: Home and office furniture incorporating natural or engineered components (including solid timbers, natural wood veneers, laminates, leather finishes, marbles, granites, and fabrics) may naturally showcase watermarks, color spots, texture shifts, or tone irregularities.

  • Non-Defect Status: These organic anomalies are inherent characteristics of high-quality craftsmanship materials and are not considered manufacturing defects. Under varying environmental exposures, these components may exhibit minimal hairline fractures, slight shrinkage, scent dissipation, or unique polish tones over time.

8. Retention of Title & Storage Protections

  • Retention of Ownership: Ideal Home SA strictly retains full legal ownership, property rights, and title over all items delivered or installed until the invoice balance is paid in full. We reserve the full legal right to request access and repossess items if payment accounts remain defaulted.

  • Showroom Storage Terms: For all purchases of stock items, delivery or collection must be finalized within one (1) month from the initial transaction date.

  • Extended Storage Default: Orders left uncollected in our warehouse facilities for longer than three (3) months without explicit written management extensions may be subject to asset disposal or confiscation to cover storage handling costs, without financial compensation to the buyer.

9. 6-Month Limited Warranty Framework

  • Coverage Window: We back our inventory with a 6-month limited warranty starting from the initial date of delivery/collection, protecting exclusively against structural failure from manufacturing defects in workmanship and raw materials.

  • Warranty Exclusions: This warranty explicitly excludes damages stemming from normal daily wear and tear, direct cuts, intentional burns, commercial over-loading, liquid logging, accidents, environmental moisture exposure, or unauthorized modifications.

  • Remedy Options: Approved warranty claims will receive either professional technical repair services or a direct replacement item, free of labor and parts charges. For requests logged past the 6-month window, out-of-warranty technical repair services may be quoted separately.

10. Statutory Rights, Handling Fees, & Refunds

  • ECT Act Cooling-Off Rights: Online consumers retain a statutory 7-day cooling-off window to cancel digital transactions without arbitrary penalties. However, the client remains fully liable for all associated logistics expenses (initial outbound transit fees, return collection courier costs, and administration fees).

  • Condition Requirement: Returns under the cooling-off act are completely voided if the items have been fully or partially assembled, used, or if the protective manufacturing packaging has been discarded.

  • Non-Defective Assessment Costs: If a product return is requested under a claim of defect, and our quality control inspection reveals the product is entirely faultless, the customer will be billed for all logistics legs plus a minimum 5% or R70 handling/administration fee before the item is returned to them.

  • Processing Timelines: Internal warehouse quality testing takes up to 1 working day from arrival. Validated refunds require 2 to 3 working days to process administratively, and generally take an additional 5 working days to clear into your bank account depending on domestic banking structures.
